International Pricing Analyst

Business Support Area~Pricing International

Admiral has always considered our Pricing department to be a fundamental cornerstone of the successful growth of our business. We are looking for an ambitious and enthusiastic recent graduate in a numerical discipline to join our International Pricing team based in Cardiff.

You should be an intelligent and hard-working individual with an inquisitive and creative mindset. You should have a keen interest in finding insight in data and a passion for sharing your knowledge and experience with peers.

The International Pricing department provides strategic advice and support to Pricing and Analytics departments across the Group in order to accelerate the profitable growth of our International operations.

The team is comprised of ~20 people, who work with different areas of the UK and international businesses. The team is based in Cardiff, but analysts sometimes travel to our overseas operations (in Spain, Italy, France or the USA).

You will initially train under one of our more experienced analysts, so you won’t be thrown into the deep end! However, you should be a fast learner as we expect you to get to grips with the role within a few months and start taking on your own projects.

This role will give you exposure to senior management in the UK and across the Group and allow you to make an impact early on in your career- so it’s perfectly suited for an ambitious graduate keen to develop within an analytical role.

Your responsibilities

  • Analyzing our pricing structures and past performance to improve risk management
  • Communicating results and ideas to key decision makers across geographies, including Heads of Departments and regional CEO’s
  • Collaborating with peers in pricing and with stakeholders from all relevant areas of the business in the UK and internationally

Qualifications and skills we are looking for

  • Qualified to degree level with a 2:1 or above (or equivalent) in a highly mathematical subject
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills supported by a solid academic background
  • The ability to combine analytical thinking based on numbers with common sense and imagination
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Previous experience with programming packages like SAS and SQL is desirable by not essential
  • Personality and a sense of humor (we believe work should be fun!)
